Description

Established in 1979, the Fullerton Arboretum serves the community as a premier resource for ecological, horticultural and historical education. The Fullerton Arboretum is the largest botanical garden in Orange County. Encompassing 26 lush acres, The Fullerton Arboretum has a permanent collection of over 4,000 unique and unusual plant species from around the world. With its ponds, streams and wildlife, the Fullerton Arboretum offers a tranquil retreat from a fast-paced urban life. We are very proud of our many collections of plants. We offer you the chance to see plants you may have never seen before, or offer you a new look at the plants that grow right in our own backyards. We take great care to ensure that our grounds are always well maintained and beautiful for you to enjoy. There are several collections we maintain on our grounds, which allow you to travel from the island of Madagascar through the rainforests and back to the native redwoods that inhabit Northern California. To truly enjoy our grounds for all they are worth, you need to visit. Bring your camera, as there is always something that will catch your eye. Guided Nature Tours: Join one of our knowledgeable docents as they guide you on a tour through the beautiful garden. Enjoy the sights and sounds of our different garden collections through secret trails off the beaten path. Docents will take you to their favorite places in the garden and share stories and folklore. Bring your walking shoes and your enthusiasm! Public tours are held the second and fourth Saturday of each month at 10 am. Meet at the Nature Center; no registration required. Heritage House Tours You are invited to travel back in time inside the walls of our turn of the century Victorian heritage house. This local treasure, which once served as a doctor’s office and home, will help you understand the history of 1890’s Orange County. Heritage House tours occur most Saturdays and Sundays between 2pm and 4pm. Meet at Heritage House. Heritage House is closed the months of January and August. Museum: Opened Wednesdays/Saturdays/Sundays 12am-4pm
